    Skin Rejuvenation Peelings

Skin peeling procedures remove the upper keratinous layers of the skin. It can be superficial, medium and deep.

Peeling is a controlled destruction of skin cells followed by exfoliating certain skin layers. As a result of the peeling, new cell growth begins from the lowest levels of the dermis to regenerate the top facial skin layers. Peeling is used for both rejuvenation and medical treatments. It is used to treat: dynamic acne, acne scarring, seborrheic dermatitis, hyperkeratosis, stretch marks, pigment problems, and scars.

The most appropriate kind of peeling and the proper peeling agent for your skin type and its conditions must be determined by a specialist.

Skin peeling varies depending on the penetration depth:

    Superficial peeling:

    • Affects just outer layers of the skin
    • Re-establishes clearer and smoother skin texture
    • Revitalizes the skin
    • Immediate, brighter and more radiant skin
    • Improves color tone

Medium peeling completely removes corneal layer to stimulate skin regeneration Indications for the need of medium peeling include:

    • Skin aging changes
    • Acne scarring
    • Stretch marks

Deep peeling is used for epidermal skin layer removal. The procedure requires a deep level of penetration and is carried out only in in-patient facilities.

Peelings types vary depending on the exfoliation equipment used.
The main types are: mechanical, chemical, enzyme, and laser peeling.

    Chemical peeling
This procedure destroys parts of the skin in a controlled way so that new skin can grow in its place. The chemicals used are sometimes called exfoliating or wounding agents.
Chemical peeling has become very popular nowadays. It can be superficial, medium or deep depending on how deeply the chemical penetrates and what type of chemical solution is used.

Superficial – is the mildest type of chemical peel, and is one that can be used on all skin types. Superficial peels usually use liquid containing a mild acid, most often glycolic acid.
Medium - penetrates the skin more deeply than superficial peels and causes a second-degree burn on the skin. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is the main peeling agent used for medium peels, though the peel may also be done in several steps using a different chemical solution followed by TCA.
Deep peels - penetrate several layers of skin and cause a second-degree burn of the skin. They are used only on the face. A chemical called phenol is usually used for a deep peel. A deep peel can be done only once in most cases.

    Ultrasound peeling
An ultrasound peeling procedure lasts for 10 minutes and works on the skin in a gentle way, by pleasant, natural vibrations - without the use of electric power. The application of the device allows deep skin regeneration through quick and effective skin renovation and in-depth cleansing. Under heat and high pressure, it is a very precise and absolutely painless cleansing that removes toxins, damaged layers of the epidermis, oil gland secretion, takes place. The result of this is that the skin is visibly renewed and refreshed.

    Laser peeling
Laser peeling is considered to be one of the most effective ways of skin rejuvenation. The laser penetrates the skin at many small pinpoints, stimulating the collagen in the deep layers. It helps to improve wrinkles, certain scars, skin discoloration, pre-cancerous skin growths and even shallow tumors by removing layers of skin using laser light energy, which tightens loose skin and improves certain folds and creases. Laser peeling causes not just aesthetic but also other non-observable healing effects.
