The whole day can be turned into (become) the nightmare if your face is covered with those ugly acnes. It becomes irritating every time you look into the mirror and see your own reflection. It becomes a problem just to go out to say nothing of communicating with people who see your problem which can not be covered by some make-up foundation. Social discomfort and hang-ups fill in the life of the person who suffers acne infection.

Sebaceous glands are found throughout all skin except for the palms and soles and are related to the big percentage of the general number of skin diseases.

The sebaceous glands that secrete fatty material (sebum) on skin are located in the dermis, the layer of skin situated just below the surface layer (epidermis). The sebaceous gland disorders include acne, rosacea, dermatitis and sebaceous cysts. Sebaceous gland resembles branched alveolar gland with holocrine type of secretion. Hair related (as for their interaction with hair) they are divided into loose and connected to hair. During 24 hours sebaceous glands altogether secrete about 20 grams of oily substance called sebum which is a mixture of fats, cholesterol, proteins, inorganic salts and pheromones. Sebaceous disorders vary and include: Rosacea, Dermatitis, Sebaceous cysts, Sebaceus adenoma, Sebaceus Carcioma but most frequently Acnes Some of the diseases associated with overactive sebaceous glands are comedones, milia, acne, seborrhea, rosacea, steatoma, asteatosis, seborrheic dermatitis, and furuncle.
Acne Acne can involve mild to severe outbreaks of pimples and cysts on the face and sometimes on the back, shoulders and chest. Acne formation is caused by gram-positive bacteria Propionibacterium acnes and accompanied by formation of comedos. Due to the stress and anxiety resulting from acne breakouts, a person also suffers emotionally and psychologically from acne. Acne is a medical condition, and those who suffer from it must seek medical attention from a professional so that their acne can be treated. Acne is not a trivial disease in comparison with other chronic conditions. This should be recognized in the allocation of health care resources. Among those who suffer acne disease prevail homeless and lonesome people.
The occurrence of acne in different age groups can be noted as follows: 90% in people before 30 years old (among 60% female and 30 male), 6% in people before 30-45 (5% - female and 1 % male) The incidence of acne is greatest during puberty, adolescence, and when hormones influencing the secretion of oil glands are at their peak level of activity such as during stress, emotional problems, menstruation, menopause, and exercising. Other causes or contributing factors include allergies, poor diet, dehydration, environmental pollution, heredity, sun over exposure, and weaken immunity. Correct individual treatment program will vary from client to client and depends on patient’s medical history, previous treatments experience, associated diseases and accompanied with various laboratory tests results (general blood analysis, biochemical blood assay, bacteriological test as well as ultrasound skin testing, endocrine (hormonal) and gynecological tests). Type and amount of chosen treatment will depend on the severity of the acne problem (size of the blemishes and whether or not they are inflamed, presence of scarring or permanent pigmentation)
The main goals of acne treatment are to prevent scarring, reduce the number of painful lesions, and minimize the stress and embarrassment related to the condition.
1. Antibiotics — work by killing bacteria and reducing inflammation. Topical antibiotics such as clindamycin or erythromycin are available in prescription form. They may be used to treat mild to moderate acne.
2. COS (oral contraceptives)
3. Retinoids - stop the development of new acne
You should expect rather time consuming treatment course and try not to focus too much attention on (worry less about) the appearance problem (skin outward appearance). In the long run acnes are just a temporary skin condition and their presence should not be the reason to be over dramatic and developing low self esteem. Contemporary dermatological methods are able to just significantly improve acne conditions but get better skin state on the whole. The skin care habits gained during the course of treatment will help you to enjoy the beauty of spring and young skin sensation in the future.
