    Ultrasound Skin Diagnostics

For the first time in Ukraine!
Skin structural elements quantitative and qualitative assessment
Birthmarks (nevi), dermatofibromas and fibromas, hemangiomas, capillary lymphangiomas – are just a few examples from the list of new growths problems now being treated by the highly skilled dermatologists at VIRTUS institute of plastic and cosmetic surgery. There are over 300 types of dermatological conditions known to medicine. However the reasons and causes for skin problems can hardly be determined or the lesions properly treated by beauty shops assistants but are rather a matter for specialized medical center physicians.
The fact is that very often skin new growths are mainly referred to as cosmetological disorders, although they often require careful diagnostics due to the chances of their malign origin.
The Institute of plastic and cosmetic surgery VIRTUS offers unique ultrasound skin diagnostics.
    Range of usage:
    1. To determine the removal options of benign skin lesions in order to achieve highly effective aesthetic results.
Aesthetically unpleasant, benign skin lesions or those with high risk of converting into malign ones, nowadays are removed by one of two methods: laser or by surgical excision (or monitored to confirm the exact diagnosis)
Patients’ primary demands are smooth results and no scarring after the skin disorder removal. In his turn doctor’s main concern for the new growth to be completely removed excluding reoccurrence and leaving no chances for it to develop into cancer.
Until recently dermatologists of VIRTUS institute like in most other clinics used visual inspection in order choose the treatment option. But this type of inspection could not lead to correct diagnosis for the doctor could not determine the hidden depth of a lesion. Today a skin ultrasound exam sits in-between histological testing and visual inspection.
    2. To control anti-age therapy effectiveness
Dermatologists and cosmetologists have got a rather effective tool for examining aging skin changes and dynamics of undergoing processes. Ultrasound diagnostics have become helpful in developing individual anti-aging therapy methods
    3. To control long term treatment effects like rejuvenation, laser resurfacing, chemical peeling, golden thread implantation and filler material injections
    4. For early osteoporosis detection and treatment control.
    5. To evaluate (assess) the degree of involutional skin changes.
    6. To determine the depth and extension of melanoma involving benign tissues and operative measures planning.
