Hand Surgery

Plastic surgeons are usually specialized and well trained in treating hand disorders. This section deals with general techniques and approaches used in all areas (types) of plastic surgery, like (for insance) tissue repositioning and microsurgery. Our clinic helps to treat the following hand disorder (deformity, disease):

• Dupuytren's contracture (fibrosis of palmar fascia and aponeurosis) – It is a disorder of the skin and underlying tissue on the inside of the hand.
• thick, scar-like tissue forms under the skin of the palm, extending into the fingers, pulling them toward the palm and restricting motion. (pic. 1,2,3) Usually this pathology (process) affects 4th and 5th finger tendons

-traumatic hand and upper extremities injuries – investing tissue lesions, tendon injuries;
-post-burn scarring deformities of hand and upper extremities;
-congenital hand deformities (pic. 6,7): Syndactyly, when two or more fingers are fused together (joined by skin), Syndactyly (supernumerary (extra), 6th finger).
